What we do.

Envision It.

Since 1998 the California School of Garden Design has been offering courses in landscape design, irrigation, low-voltage lighting and vegetable gardening. Our classes have been developed to provide a practical venue for those wanting a focused approach to learning.

Construct It.

Each of our courses offers challenges to the student by incorporating hands-on exercises to reinforce the subject being presented. We believe that you learn most effectively when you put the tools we provide to work on your own project or one we may provide.

Cultivate It.

Our upcoming courses on gardening and propagation will give you the confidence to grow your own vegetables and herbs, bringing home-grown fresh food to your table.

conserve It.

Landscape design is more than simply selecting plants – it is also engineering and water management. With courses on irrigation as well as grading techniques, students become familiar with the necessary skills to communicate their ideas to landscape contractors and other professionals when presenting design solutions.

Refine It.

As you develop ideas, taking the concept plan into SketchUp opens the door to reviewing your solution in 3-dimension. This gives us the opportunity to refine the design and present it in a manner that is visual and extremely powerful.

Spread the Word.

Our courses not only educate our students, but the student now becomes a voice of credibility and confidence when explaining conservation, sustainability and creativity to others.
